Williams Woodland Park Holiday Home Tour
Historic Homes!  Music!  Free Carriage Rides!

    Saturday December 5th, 5-9 p.m.     Sunday, December 6th, 1-5 p.m.

The residents of Williams Woodland Park are opening several of their historic homes to the
public this holiday season, in Fort Wayne's only annual Holiday Home Tour. On Saturday, December 5,
from 5-9 p.m., and Sunday, December 6, from 1-5 p.m., ticket-holders will be transported back in time,
to view the elegantly crafted and lovingly restored homes from Fort Wayne's first planned neighborhood,
    ca. 1903-1910.

Six Victorian-era homes will be open to the public on this year's tour, as well as a traditional English
tea party and a nativity showcase at Simpson United Methodist Church. Two apartments in the historic
Fairfield Manor will also be open as part of the tour. The tour will also feature music performances, art,
and fine antique furniture. In the spirit of the holidays, and free carriage rides will transport visitors on
    their tour through history.

Williams Woodland Park has been a local Historic District since 1985. The neighborhood was
placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. Williams Woodland was once the
southernmost stop on Fort Wayne's streetcar line. It became the location of the community's first planned
development in 1903. Louis Curdes, who went on to develop Forest Park Boulevard several years later,
created a new kind of neighborhood with his design, including a unique pattern of H-shaped alleys within
the blocks, a unified setback for each home and the city's first deed restrictions concerning barns and
    carriage houses.

Tour begins at The Simpson United Methodist Church, 2501 S Harrison St. (free parking)
